Welcome to WeeklyWilson.com, where author/film critic Connie (Corcoran) Wilson avoids totally losing her marbles in semi-retirement by writing about film (see the Chicago Film Festival reviews and SXSW), politics and books----her own books and those of other people. You'll also find her diverging frequently to share humorous (or not-so-humorous) anecdotes and concerns. Try it! You'll like it!

THE COLOR OF EVIL: The Beat Goes On

The April issue of “Shelf Unbound” magazine named the 3-e-book series THE COLOR OF EVIL one of the Best Indie Books of the Year. (#44, p. 98)

I’ve been crafting a screenplay based on Book One. We’ll see how that fares. It had the assistance (feedback) of a Hollywood producer responsible for the purchase (by his studio) of “Memento,” “Donnie Darko” and “The Passion of the Christ” and, also, of Dan Decker, AFI Film School graduate and founder of the Chicago Screenwriting School.

THE COLOR OF EVIL Series on Tour Through November

Author: Connie (Corcoran) Wilson

Connie (Corcoran) Wilson

Book: THE COLOR OF EVIL series (3 novels, currently)

Synopsis: Sixteen-year-old Tad McGreevy has a power that he has never revealed, not even to his life-long best friend, Stevie Scranton. When Tad looks at others, he sees colors. These auras tell Tad whether a person is good or evil. At night, Tad dreams about the evil-doers, reliving their crimes in horrifyingly vivid detail.

But Tad doesn’t know if the evil acts he witnesses in his nightmares are happening now, are already over, or are going to occur in the future. And he can’t control this extraordinary power. All Tad knows is that he wants to protect those he loves. And he wants the bad dreams that have haunted him since age 8 to stop.

This is a terrifying, intense story of the dark people and places that lurk just beneath the surface of seemingly normal small-town life.

, with its second book RED IS FOR RAGE and the third KHAKI = KILLER and the short story series HELLFIRE & DAMNATION, organized around Dante’s INFERNO and the crimes or sins punished at each of the 9 Circles of Hell. First Review of Virtual Tour In: “Mallory’s Heart Review”

Check out Mallory Anne-arie Forbes’ review of “THE COLOR OF EVIL” at the link above. Among other things, she says, “Ms. Wilson juggles a large cast of characters, develops each, and keeps plots going on all the urners. If you’re looking for action, it’s here; suspense, it’s here; mystery, romance, adventure, thrill—RED IS FOR RAGE has them all.”

First Review of “Red Is for Rage” from “My Cozie Corner” (March 18)

Red Is for Rage, Book #2 in The Color of Evil series.

Review:

“Red is for Rage” is the second book in ‘The Color of Evil’ series. Connie continues the story where it left off but we learn more about Tad’s powers. A nicely flowing plot that will hook you in from the beginning. A must read for all adult readers who love the thrill of horror.

I give “Red is for Rage” a 5 star rating.

Galaxy Bookstore Hosts Book Signing “Down Under” in Sydney, Australia

Me at the Galaxy Bookstore on York Street in Sydney, Australia.

The Galaxy Bookstore at 131 York Street in Sydney, Australia, hosted a book signing on Thursday night, February 7th, from 5 to 8 p.m. A paranormal romance book club meets at that time, and I had the opportunity to speak with some of the members as they began their group discussion at 6:30 p.m. I also cleared it with Dave, the store manager, that I could roam the lower level of the independent bookstore, which has been operating in Sydney for 40 years as a family-owned enterprise.

Allison, me and Chrissie the evening of the Galaxy Bookstore signing in Sydney at 131 York Street (Feb. 7, 5 to 8 p.m.)

Cath and Dom Zartarian (honeymooners) at dinner in Darling Harbour.

Our friends from the cruise ship the Celebrity Solstice, who had been driving about in Australia since the cruise and had visited friends in Brisbane, Cath and Dom Zartarian, returned to Sydney because they left today (February 8, Friday) to return to England. They came to my book signing, so three continents were represented.

RED IS FOR RAGE, second in THE COLOR OF EVIL series.

I offered purchasers of THE COLOR OF EVIL a free electronic copy of Book Two, which went “live” today on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Three of the book club’s members took me up on it, so I shall be sending them the book from my files and I hope they enjoy both the first and second installments in what is to be (at least) a three-book series.

Craig and I at a restaurant in Darling Harbour with our friends Don and Cath Zartarian.

After the signing, we stopped in Sweeney’s, an old style pub next door, and then went to Darling Harbour for dinner. The pictures below are of our evening meal with good friends Dom and Cath.

If you don’t want to click away from this page to see what Miss Suzanne Mann had to say, here are a few excerpts:

“Connie Wilson is an author I had never encountered before. Where she has been hiding, I have no idea…The author does a wonderful job of keeping this story active. Every time I stopped reading, I felt myself hankering to get back to the book to see what would happen next. There is a lot of suspense and some gruesome, gory moments that keep the reader enthralled…The last chapter was brilliantly written. Short and to the point—quite shocking really, because the reader is slammed with details about the main characters that they perhaps did not know. At the present moment, I am impatiently waiting to find out what is happening with the characters I have become so attached to! If you like horror (of the type that can really happen!) , then you will enjoy this book immensely. It is an extremely well-written book.”

Gee. Thanks, Suzanne. And if you read this, contact me to become a BETA reader for “Red Is for Rage,” which should be out no later than February, 2013. Just write me at [email protected]. And all the rest of you, who have not (yet) read “The Color of Evil,” your chance to read it for FREE is to download it either to your Kindle or to your computer on December 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14.

Some Blog Tour Stops for “The Color of Evil” & “Hellfire & Damnation II” in December

“The Color of Evil” will be FREE on December 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, just in advance of the release after the first of the year of the second book in “The Color of Evil” series, entitled “Red Is for Rage.”

Be sure to download it for free on those dates and keep your eyes peeled for Book 2 in what looks like it is going to be a four-book series.
